Beautiful Night Views in Chuo Ward
The streets of Chuo Ward are not only clean and beautiful during the day but also enchanting at night. While some night vistas are available throughout the year, others come to life only during winter when they are illuminated. In this article, I aim to introduce several such nocturnal scenes in Chuo Ward.
Chuo-dori Avenue
The initial image showcases a night view of Chuo-dori Avenue in Ginza. This perspective, captured from the location where the Kyobashi Bridge used to be there, extends towards the Ginza area. Due to a slight turn in the avenue at this point, an unobstructed view towards Ginza can be admired from the sidewalk.
Kabuki-za Theater
Kabuki-za is a theater dedicated to the traditional Japanese performing art of kabuki. Reconstructed in 2013, the current building inherits the design of its predecessor.

Skyscrapers in Kachidoki
Kachidoki, located on the east side of the Sumida River's mouth, features numerous high-rise buildings lining its streets. This particular view was captured near the western end of the Tsukuda Ohashi Bridge.
Chuo Ohashi Bridge
Spanning the Sumida River and connecting the Shinkawa and Tsukuda areas, the Chuo Ohashi Bridge is frequently appears in the popular Japanese manga and animation "March Comes in Like a Lion" by Chika Umino (Japanese title: 3月のライオン). While the main character's town is fictional, it's evident that this bridge and its surroundings are modeled.
Kiyosubashi Avenue
This view, taken from Higashi Nihonbashi, leads towards Meiji-za, another drama theater. Further ahead, the avenue continues to the Kiyosubashi Bridge.
The Mitsui Main Building
A significant landmark representing Chuo Ward, the Mitsui Main Building stands out with its Corinthian order colonnade. During winter, the trees lining Edo Sakura-dori Avenue are illuminated, offering a beautiful sight to passersby.

Edobashi Bridge
Edobashi, which spans the Nihonbashi River along Showa-dori Avenue, reveals the Metropolitan Expressway above in the photograph. Despite being constructed several decades ago, it exudes a futuristic aura when viewed at night.
Sakura-dori Avenue
Sakura-dori Avenue, adjacent to the Nihonbashi Takashimaya Department Store, offers a night view adorned with illuminations exclusively during winter. In spring, this avenue is embellished with beautiful cherry blossoms.
