Beautiful Night Views of Ginza
As the year turned and we welcomed 2025, Christmas and New Year's celebrations, though only recently passed, already feel like distant memories. While the cold winter days continue and the season enters its peak, the days are gradually lengthening since the winter solstice, bringing the promise of spring closer both in season and in spirit. Soon, we will bid farewell to the dazzling winter illuminations that light up the city streets. In November, I highlighted the nightscape of Nihonbashi, and in December, that of Kyobashi. This time, before spring arrives, I want to share the breathtaking nightscape of Ginza.
Chuo-dori Avenue
Chuo-dori Avenue, Ginza’s main thoroughfare, connects Ginza, Kyobashi, and Nihonbashi. Known locally as Ginza Avenue within the district, it is Tokyo’s premier shopping destination, lined with luxury brand stores and historic department stores. On weekends, the avenue transforms into a pedestrian paradise, bustling with tourists and locals alike. Ginza is a fascinating blend of history and modernity, celebrated for its sophisticated atmosphere. While Shibuya is considered the city’s hub for youth, Ginza stands as a refined destination for adults. The exquisitely decorated shop windows along Chuo-dori Avenue enhance its elegant cityscape, particularly striking during the winter season. Harumi-dori Avenue
Harumi-dori Avenue runs east to west through Ginza and intersects Chuo-dori Avenue at the iconic Ginza 4-chome crossing. Like Chuo-dori Avenue, Harumi-dori Avenue is adorned with high-end brand shops, department stores, cafes, and restaurants, attracting crowds seeking shopping and fine dining experiences.
